OHIO!!

We have been accepted to Case School of Dental Medicine! We have been patiently waiting to hear from seven schools that Dan was able to interview at. We finally received the good news!! Case Western Reserve is located in Cleveland, Ohio. Dan's older brother Matt is a dental student there now! It would be SO much fun to be there with Matt and his wife Taylor for Dan's freshman year as a dental student. They could show us the ropes and introduce us to all the ins and outs of Cleveland! FUN! We are keeping our options open to see if we hear from any other schools.. otherwise.. We are going to Cleveland!! Way to go Dan!!

Our Story

We met in September of 2008. It was SpyGlas Court that brought us together. Dan was from San Diego and living with his childhood buddies. I was living with my sister and girlfriends from Southern Orange County. We had several things in common: We were both juniors at BYU, we both attended the same FHE group, and all of our room mates enjoyed each other. We would spend our time watching Harry Potter, working on puzzles, playing games, pranking people, making food, and laughing WAY too much.

Our first date was to J-Dawgs. We walked down the street to a red shack and ordered gourmet hot dogs. We sat on the grass and got to know each other. Dan spilled special sauce all over his pants! He was embarrassed, although he played it off pretty well. We did not go on a date for a while after that. We spent time in the library studying. We always ended up talking a lot. He made me laugh all the time... and for those of you who know.. I love to laugh!!

The more we got to know each other, the more time we spent together. We had so much in common! We started to date more often. We did things like: decorate an older couple's home for Christmas, serve children at a "Breakfast with Santa", go to museums, eat Thai food, sled, and watch good movies. We were in love by January!

Dan proposed to me in San Clemente in June. He had gotten my dad's permission a month before! He proposed to me on the beach after a scavenger hunt to all my favorite places in SC. The sand was lit up with luminaries spelling out, "Marry Me?" It was beautiful! The moon was shining on the ocean and there was no one but us. We sat in beach chairs and drank hot chocolate. Oh, and of course I said yes!

We decided to get married in August of 2009. Dan moved away from Provo for the summer to sell pest control in Denver and I was here in Provo preparing for a wedding in California! We saw each other in Denver in July and were so excited to start a life together in August!

We were married August 22, 2009. We live in a one bedroom apartment in Provo which is very close to BYU Campus. We will be graduating in April and will be off to Dental School come fall! Dan always likes to tell people, "We are still wingin' things!", which to us means, we have enjoyed every minute of getting to know each other.
