Favorite Recipes of the Week

Homemade White Bread...

Made in a Slow Cooker!!

Recipe from:

Classic White Bread:

1 envelope (0.25 ounce)

OR 2 1/4 tsp. active dry yeast

1 tsp. sugar

1/4 c. warm water

1 egg

1/4 c. vegetable oil

1 c. lukewarm water

1 tsp. salt

1/4 c. sugar

31/2 - 4 c. flour

In a bowl, combine yeast, 1 tsp. sugar, and 1/4 c. warm water.

Allow yeast to foam, about 5 minutes.

Add egg, oil, lukewarm water, salt,

1/4 c. sugar, and 2 cups of flour.

Beat with an electric mixer 2 minutes on low.

With a wooden spoon, stir in the remaining flour.

Place dough in greased 4-5 quart slow cooker.

Cover and cook on high heat for 2-3 hours.

Remove stoneware from slow cooker and

let stand for 5 minutes before slicing.

Makes 10-15 servings.

Serve with butter and your favorite jam!

My diploma came in the mail today!!

I have had a permanent smile on

since I laid eyes on this beauty.

I feel accomplished.

Wahooo!!

MLK Day

We got to go to the Zoo on MLK Day...for FREE!

Dan had the day off so we planned a fun outing.

We also went to the Botanical Gardens...for FREE!

It was very cold, but we dressed warm,

and drank hot chocolate.

Enjoy the pictures of our adventures.

I bet you would not expect some of these animals

to be outside in the snow! Brrrr.

One of the many things I love about Cleveland

is all of the FREE events.

There is always something going on!

In honor of MLK many museums were open

to the public for free. So cool!

We really enjoyed the day off.

HAPPY MLK DAY!

Date Night

One thing I look forward to every week is our date night.

It is so much fun to go out with Dan!

We love to go out to eat and try new food.

Dan makes waiting for tables fun because

he comes up with some ridiculous guessing game

that makes the time fly. I love it!

We went to Maggiano's last night.

It is one of our favorite places to go.

The food is delicious, the music is perfect,

and the service is stellar!

Dan has a day off for MLK Day.

We have some options for some

fun and FREE outings.
