The Feast of the Assumption

For over 100 years, Cleveland's, Little Italy has hosted
The Feast of the Assumption.
This street fair lasts for 4 days and is filled with
food, music, displays, and carnival rides!
We are so lucky to live only a block away from this event.
Of course we went almost every night.
The food is outstanding and the music is incredible.
Our entire neighborhood was outside playing music,
helping people find parking,
or sitting on their porch with family and friends.
Here are some pictures from the festivities:

You may recognize the guy in the gray shirt...
He was on The Bachelorette with Ali.
I always wondered if I would run into him in Cleveland...
and I did!!

The Jensen's:
The craziest carnival ride I have ever been on:
Skee Ball... gets you every time!
Come with us next year!

El Presidente

Dan ran for President this week.
He ran for President of the
Dental School's Freshman Student Council.
We have a winner!
I am so proud of him running for this position.
He takes on more responsibilities
and sees to it that his class is happy.
He will be participating in several meetings and fund-raisers.
He will help problem solve
and get to know more people in his class.
I look forward to seeing him get more involved.
I am excited to get to know his class too!
Hooray!

Garden Fresh

We get these delicious babies from our neighbors weekly.
They are so fresh and juicy!
I have never tasted tomatoes like this before.
I just had to blog about them because I am obsessed.
Nothing like garden fresh tomatoes!

From There... To Here

Before we left for Ohio,
we made sure to get to the Denver Temple.
We got to go out with Uncle Brian to lunch afterwards.
What a treat!

The road to Ohio was smooth.
It was really neat to see the country
and all the corn we grow...
Holy smokes!
Doing what he does best:
More corn:
AND the Mississippi:
Ya, that is more corn behind us.
It was a long drive but a fun one too!

So we live in Cleveland now.
We live here in Little Italy and
it only takes Dan "40 seconds" to walk to school.
The neighborhoods are old but beautiful.
I especially love our little area because of the
brick roads, large trees, and all the Italian shops.
Dan has been in orientation all week.
This is him heading out the door on his first day!
I have been unpacking and working on my online classes.
We also got a tour of the Cleveland Art Museum with Dan's class.
Right when we walked out of the museum
we heard jazzy music and saw lots of people.
Wade Oval Wednesday is a FREE community event.
There is food, music, and a lot of people.
We walked around and checked it out.
We will be there next week :)

Dan finished the week of orientation with his
White Coat Ceremony.
This is when the students are
welcomed into the dental profession.
The ceremony was held in this beautiful old church.
We have had such a great first week!
Moving in has been smooth,
we have met some great people,
and the more we learn about Cleveland,
the more we love it!
More to come!
