25

I am now 25!
We celebrated with good food, friends, and a surprise trip!

Dan made me this delicious cake!
Baby William made it to the party.
Our friends still want to hang with us even when we are
crammed in our little apartment.
Dan surprised me with a trip to Chicago!
We have a list of places we want to visit, and we made
a very quick weekend trip to "the windy city".
This plate was in our hotel room when we arrived. Fun!
We ate Chicago style pizza at Pizzeria Due.

We walked around the city a little bit and got our bearings.
The next morning we were off to explore!
The river that runs through downtown Chicago is dyed green
every year for St. Patrick's Day.
Boy, was it a party!
We had never seen so many people wearing green and all
were equally excited to celebrate this holiday.
It was crazy!

This little boat was being driven by a very old man.
We loved that it looked just like a car on the water.
Chicago is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever seen.
All of the buildings are equally unique and interesting.
So neat to walk around and explore.
This is what the sidewalks were like around town that day.
It was so crowded. Everyone was either at the river
or headed to the parade.
We were outside for a few hours, and then we
were so cold we had to seek shelter.
I see why they call it the windy city!
We stopped in my favorite place to have some sweets.
Magnolia's Bakery makes the best Banana Pudding.

We stayed at the "W" downtown.
It was the perfect location and was close to everything!
We loved the elevated train! So cool.
Unfortunately, the park was closed for the parade, so this was the
closest we got to the famous bean!

We also went to the Lincoln Park Zoo for free.
It was so much fun!
I would love to visit there again in the summer time!
I bet it is beautiful.
It was a quick trip but very fun!
Thanks Dan!
